Staff we spoke with knew the people they were caring for well including their preferences and personal histories. This meant that caring positive relationships were developed with people living in the home. Some care homes are registered to provide personal care only, for example help with washing, dressing and giving medication. Others also provide nursing, and will have a nurse on duty twenty-four hours a day. Staff spoke about how they would record any assessment when a person’s capacity was considered under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

When you sweep up the driveway and admire the manicured gardens, you know you have arrived at ‘The Isle’, as it’s fondly known. This may have been an old country house but we have restored it to be both elegant and comfortable in equal measure.
